Med / Surg RN Job Details – Midland, TX Location : Midland, TX 79701 (West Texas healthcare jobs) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment Unit : Medical Surgical (Resource Team) Shift : Night, 3x12-hour shifts (18 : 45 - 07 : 15) Hours per Week : 36 Contract Duration : 12 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 or 12 / 1 / 2025; End : 2 / 9 / 2026) Patient Population : Adults & Geriatrics Daily Census : 30-36 patients Float Requirement : Must float to Oncology, Ortho / Neuro, Medical, & Post-Surgical units Weekend Coverage : 13 weekend shifts per contract (Saturday or Sunday) Orientation : 36 hours Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700-$1820 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience (including ortho, neuro, and oncology) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; pending license accepted with submission, must be active before start) BLS certification required NIHSS certification required Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Ability to float to multiple clinical units as needed Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions and declinations allowed) Must pass on-site drug screening prior to assignment Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Medical Surgical setting Float between Oncology, Ortho / Neuro, Medical, and Post-Surgical units as required Perform and manage a wide range of clinical skills : blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy care, CPAP / BiPAP, feeding tube care, heparin administration, IV starts, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care, and more Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training to ensure compliance with facility and nursing standards Provide compassionate patient care while maintaining safety and infection control protocols Ready to take your nursing career further with a top travel RN job in Midland, Texas?
