Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is currently seeking an experienced Lead Construction Inspector for utility projects in our Springfield, MA office.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Monitor the construction of sewer and water main replacement to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Experience with Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) strongly preferred
• Interact professionally and cooperatively with the owner, contractor and Kleinfelder's design team to expeditiously address construction challenges.
• Lead on-site construction progress meetings attended by the owner, contractor and regulatory agency representatives.
• Prepare daily reports of construction progress.
• Ability to learn and use a survey grade GPS unit for collecting as-built information.
• Participate in the review of contractor submittals and Requests for Information.
• Review contractor's monthly payment requests.
• Review and evaluate potential change orders and negotiate change order cost proposals.
• Coordinate facility testing and startup activities.
• Evaluate substantial and final completion.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years successful past experience with similar responsibilities on multi-million dollar construction projects involving utilities and roadway.

Education:

A.S. degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture; or equivalent experience and/or education
