    Emergency Medicine

  • What are the shift times?
  • o Most 7a-7p and 7p-7a at all sites

    o There are two 8 hour shifts available per day.

  • Is call involved?
  • o No

  • What procedures are required?
  • o Proficiency in all emergency care procedures is required Central Access Arterial Line Lumbar Puncture Intubation Pacing Orthopedic stabilization etc.

  • What does the support staff include?
  • o APP coverage depending on shift and time of day. EM residency program. APP training program as well.

  • What is the average patient census?
  • o Depends on location. Most FSEDs are 2 patients per hour. Main sites are more variable.What are the most common cases the locum will see?FSEDs- Vertical 3 patients and Level 4 / 5 patients.Ocala / WM- Mainly Vertical 3 patients abdominal pain chest pain etc.. They are unlikely to work in the Main high acuity section of these facilities unless they specifically request.Annual ER admissions?Does the unit use robots? If so what kind? NAHow often are the locums called back on site if on call? NA
