Working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT), The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), helps patients improve their mobility and functional abilities, by assisting with the implementation of treatment plans, instructing patients in exercises, helping monitor progress, and reporting back to the supervising PT. PTA’s should be familiar and experienced in techniques like massage, gait training, and therapeutic exercises to help patients recover from injuries or manage chronic conditions.
This position requires at least 1-2 years prior experience in a Physical Therapist Assistant roleKey Responsibilities :
Implement Treatment PlansUnder the direction of a physical therapist, carry out specific treatment interventions for patients.Instruct and Supervise ExercisesGuide patients through prescribed exercises, ensuring proper form and safety.Monitor Patient ProgressObserve patients during treatment, document responses, and report any changes or concerns to the PT.Assist with Therapeutic ActivitiesAssist with gait training, balance exercises, functional mobility training and other exercises as directed by the PTUse Therapeutic ModalitiesUtilize modalities such as heat, cold, or electrical stimulation as directed by the PT.Educate Patients and FamiliesProvide guidance on home exercise programs, pain management strategies, and injury prevention.Maintain Treatment AreaClean and organize the therapy area, and prepare equipment for each session.Document Patient CareRecord patient information, treatment details, and progress in patient charts.Communicate with the Healthcare TeamCollaborate with the PT, other healthcare professionals, and sometimes patients' families to ensure optimal care.Requirements :
This position requires at least 1-2 years prior experience in a Physical Therapist Assistant roleExcellent organization and communication skills required.Proven history of ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, and manage time effectively.Demonstrated problem solving and workflow management skills required.Must be energetic, quality driven and have proven ability to be productive member of a cohesive team of peers dedicated to providing optimum patient care.Must maintain a professional attitude towards patients and an excellent and collegial working relationship with other Clinic personnel.
