Med / Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

Location : Rosedale, Maryland (21237) – Greater Baltimore, MD area

Healthcare Setting : Medical / Surgical Telemetry Unit

Contract Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : November 25, 2025

End Date : February 24, 2026

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (06 : 20 - 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36 hours

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Holiday Requirement : Work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and additional holidays as needed

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5 or 1 : 6

Scrubs : Navy Blue (not provided)

Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,590 - $1,710

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting

At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment preferred

Active Compact RN license or valid Maryland RN license

BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS certification preferred

Experience with gender affirmation surgery patients a plus

Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting preferred

Ability to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed

Two recent supervisor references required

Med / Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical / Surgical Telemetry unit

Monitor and manage patients on telemetry, including remote cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management

Administer blood products; manage central and peripheral lines, chest tubes, surgical drains, and feeding tubes

Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols

Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, and pre / post hemodialysis management

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Respond to rapid response and code teams as required

Float to other hospital units within scope of practice
