_Responsible for effective and efficient administration of overall Tribal operations. Provides leadership to department directors on a variety of sensitive, difficult and complex administrative matters for the Tribe. Responsible for carrying out legislative actions of the Business Committee. Administer, plans, and directs Tribal programs and services in accordance with Business Committee. Administers, plans, and directs Tribal programs and services in accordance with Business Committee directives, processes, and principles of the Tribe' strategic plan. Accountable for achieving Business Committee goals, objectives and compliance efforts._
Job Duties :
_Advises Business Committee in their deliberations on planning and policies and works to ensure consistency in policy implementation._
_Negotiates and executes contracts authorized by Business Committee_
_Plans and provides reports on programs and services and provides recommendation for improvements._
_Assists with short term and long-term strategic planning including the assessment of community needs and the design and implementation of new programs and services._
_Ensures goals and objectives support to the vision of the organization._
_Keeps informed of various Tribal projects ensuring that standards are being met._
_Promotes effective communication within Tribal, Federal, State, regional, and local organizations._
_Ensures open communication among all staff._
_Works closely with the CFO, in conjunction with Department Directors and the Business Committee to ensure annual budgets are developed for the Tribal operations and ensure sound financial planning management, reporting and accountability._
_Ensures accountability throughout the workplace._
_Meets with staff and others on various operating procedures, financial, legal, and administrative problems._
_Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Tribe's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems._
_Meets with the Business Committee in regular and special meetings; provides information and / or reports regarding tribal operations, services and / or activities._
_Performs related work as required._
_May be assigned duties under the Chehalis Tribe Emergency Management Plan and Program._
Minimum Qualifications :
_Bachelors degree in related field and five (5) years executive management experience in a tribal organization is required. Experience with American Indian / Alaska Native communities is required. _
