Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications in North Carolina or a compact state.
Responsibilities
Work in a 43-bed Emergency Department within a hospital settingShift is 12-hour nights from 1900 to 0700 with every other weekend requiredPatient population includes pediatric to geriatric with trauma stabilization, respiratory illness, stroke, behavioral health, acute MI, diabetes, and minor trauma casesRN to patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 based on acuityAverages 145 patients per day with a 25-30% admission rateNo trauma designation; facility is a Chest Pain and Stroke CenterWill float within Region 2 facilities including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division, and any Freestanding ED in the region as neededUses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, and additional emergency care technologyNo on-call or call back requiredCollaborate with HCT, unit secretary, paramedics, charge nurse, patient safety attendants, pharmacists, social workers, schedulers, respiratory therapists, and APPs24 / 7 support from ED physicians, hospitalists, intensivists, and geriatric APPsDepartment provides a welcoming, helpful, and busy work cultureOrientation includes NEO and two departmental training daysScrubs required in navy blueFree onsite parking providedTravelers are required to work 75% of holidaysMid-shift floating is compensated for travel time between facilitiesRequirements
Active NC or compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications requiredTwo years of ED nursing experience requiredExperience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK / TPA administration, and conscious sedation requiredTravel RN experience preferred but not requiredMust be willing and able to float among designated region facilities per assignment needsPermanent address must be at least 50 miles from the home unit facilityBenefits
