Senior Inventory Control Analyst
Location : Greater Boston, MA
Salary Range : $85,000 – $115,000
About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Senior Inventory Control Analyst to maintain the accuracy, integrity, and visibility of materials and parts within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, investigating discrepancies, and driving process improvements that enhance efficiency and data reliability.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on, cross-functional role that interfaces with operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams. You will play a key role in ensuring material traceability, optimizing system workflows, and supporting production needs with timely, accurate information.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain effective inventory control procedures to support production, engineering, and procurement operations.
Lead and execute cycle count programs, physical inventory audits, and variance analyses to ensure inventory accuracy.
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost or process improvement.
Investigate and resolve system variances and stock discrepancies through root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
Maintain integrity across ERP and inventory systems; perform regular data reviews and reconciliation.
Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, improve visibility, and strengthen reporting accuracy.
Support material traceability, returns, and shelf-life management to meet internal quality and compliance requirements.
Prepare and present inventory performance reports and KPIs to management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and data transparency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in inventory control, inventory analysis, or materials management within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Acumatica, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Proven track record of improving inventory accuracy and process efficiency.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
Experience conducting cycle counts, root cause investigations, and inventory audits.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Knowledge of regulatory or quality standards (ISO, AS9100, or similar) preferred.
