About The Position

Description :

This position is for a registered nurse in a trauma stepdown unit.

The shift is night from 7 PM to 7 AM.

The unit accommodates multi-system injured trauma patients and surgical patients.

The ideal candidate will have a background in PCU, IMC, trauma, or stepdown units.

Patient ratios are 1 : 5 for floor nursing and 1 : 3 for stepdown nursing.

The unit includes 25 floor beds and 6 stepdown beds.

Candidates may be required to float to floor beds as discussed in the interview.

Every other weekend is required.

Compliance with the flu vaccination policy is necessary unless a medical exemption is provided.

Skills required include blood product administration, central line management, chest tube care, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.

Experience with telemetry and various trauma care protocols is preferred.

The position offers a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.

A robust support system including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services is available.

Candidates should be open to accommodating scheduling requests.

The facility is a Level 1 trauma center with a strong focus on teaching and patient outcomes.
