The Registered Nurse provides and directs clinically appropriate patient care to an individual or group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and mission of the Department of Nursing, the organization, and the scope and standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA).

Qualifications :

Required : Current Virginia State RN License

Minimum Education

□ Bachelor’s degree X Preferred □ Required

Certifications :

X Basic Life Support (BLS) (Can be obtained during week one orientation)

□ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (New Hires have 30 days to obtain)

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Continuing Education : 15 contact hours CE required annually.

Minimum Work Experience

Required : 2 years ICU or ED experienced.

Preferred : Previous IR or Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
