NEEDED : Nurse Practitioner

LOCATION : 9300 S. Wilmot Rd., Tucson, AZ 85756

SCHEDULE : Monday – Friday, 6 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Shall have a current license and must be eligible for board certification in their chosen field of expertise that permits him / her to practice and to perform services in the State of Arizona for the duration of the contract.
  • Must have obtained a graduate degree from an accredited University, with a degree in Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant Studies.
  • A copy of post graduate training primary source verified,
  • A copy of NCCPA board certification (where applicable),
  • A copy of continuing education for the last 3 years shall be submitted with current CV.

JOB DUTIES : shall be responsible for, but is not limited to :

  • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate population.
  • Conduct medical histories, examine patients, order and interpret laboratory tests, x-ray and other diagnostic testing.
  • Diagnosis and treat patients in an efficient, timely, and professional manner, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications utilizing the Bureau of Prisons formulary.
  • Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing
  • Attend to medical emergencies.
  • Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy.
  • Emergency consultation to be performed in instances where deemed necessary.
  • Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits.
  • Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising program plans.
  • Assists in determining conditions, resources, and policies essential to delivery of health care services.
  • Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
  • Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations

  • Provides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physician
