The English Program at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, invites applications for a Lecturer of Composition. Preferred candidates will have an MA or PhD in Composition and Rhetoric and must have demonstrated excellence in teaching first-year composition. Candidates with an MA or MFA in a related field (literature or creative writing) and ample experience teaching composition will be considered. The position requires a credit load of 18 credit hours per academic year (3 / 3). Courses to be taught include Fundamentals of Academic Writing, College Writing I, and College Writing II. We are looking for a colleague who will support and carry out the mission of the college as well as demonstrate a commitment to developing and enhancing a culture of rigor, excellence, and achievement. As a small college, we value hard work and collegiality. Salary begins at $45,000 and is commensurate with experience. Due to institutional policy requirements, a lecturer position is contractually reflected at the instructor rank, which has no effect on the position. Contracts are yearly, and eligible for renewal.
