Indmar Marine Engines is looking for a dependable, quality-focused team player to join our Engineering department.

The CAD Designer is responsible for creating and updating CAD models and technical drawings for new and existing products. The ideal candidate will have experience with SolidWorks and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for designing engines and engine components using SolidWorks CAD software. Maintain and create engine bill of materials. Maintain and create PCRs. Assist in the shop with projects as needed.

Requirements :

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Coordinates the collection of data and incorporates information into layouts, 2D & 3D drawings and schematics that are utilized in the manufacturing of marine engines and engine components.
  • Prepares and submits drawings and bill of material information for approval by the design engineer of vice president of engineering.
  • Modifies existing drawings to develop or improve current products and processes.
  • Assists in analysis of problem areas and recommended solutions.
  • Utilize PDM tools for CAD
  • Develop working knowledge of existing Indmar products and components.
  • May assist in the shop on various projects as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

  • Must be proficient in SolidWorks CAD software
  • Working knowledge of design / drafting documentation and tolerance standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize projects and tasks as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well within a small team.

    • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :

  • Associate’s degree in CAD, Engineering Technology or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a CAD designer preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • CSWP Certification preferred.
  • Experience with 3D printing technology is a plus.

    • ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :

  • Office / Shop Environment
  • Gasoline Engine test conditions

    • PHYSICAL EFFORT : Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

    Salary is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year. This position is 100% in-office. The schedule is Monday - Thursday 7 : 00am - 4 : 30pm & Fridays 7 : 00am - Noon.
