Job Overview : Lichty Building Group Inc, a respected name in residential remodeling and custom homebuilding, is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Preconstruction & Estimating Manager to join our growing team in Newnan, GA. This full-time position plays a pivotal role in the success and profitability of our projects. You'll manage multiple estimates at various stages of development, collaborate closely with our design, field, and leadership teams, and deliver accurate bids that reflect our commitment to craftsmanship and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural plans, design concepts, and scopes of work to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Conduct site visits to gather field data and verify conditions
  • Perform detailed take-offs for materials, labor, and subcontractor work
  • Solicit bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Collaborate with internal teams (designers, project managers, owner) to finalize proposals
  • Provide value engineering options when needed to meet client budgets
  • Maintain and regularly update cost databases and subcontractor lists
  • Participate in project hand-offs to the production team
  • Analyze actual project costs against estimates to refine future bids

    • Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of residential construction or remodeling estimating experience
  • Solid understanding of residential construction methods and materials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple estimates (25-30) simultaneously
  • Comfortable collaborating with designers, field supervisors, and leadership
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for site visits
  • Preferred but not required :

    • Hands-on residential construction experience

  • Familiarity with permitting processes and local building codes
