Texas Oncology / Texas Breast Specialists is seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant II to join our dedicated team at the Mansfield, Midlothian and Dallas locations. This full‑time position runs Monday‑Friday from 8 : 30 AM to 5 PM—enjoy your weekends, holidays, and evenings off! Texas Oncology is proud to be the largest community oncology provider in the nation, with over 600 providers and 220+ sites across Texas. Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
  • Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Prepares and stocks exam / treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
  • Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
  • Maintains all exam / treatment room disinfection protocols.
  • Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse / pharmacist.
  • Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
  • Obtains prior authorizations for diagnostic tests and prescriptions as needed.
  • Schedules diagnostic tests order by physicians.
  • Informs physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
  • Performs other administrative duties, i.e., typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.
  • May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Educational and Experience Qualifications :

  • Graduate from an accredited program with Certified Medical Assistant Certificate.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Willingness to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Oncology experience preferred.
  • Surgical experience beneficial.
  • Physical Demands

    Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients; manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination; standing and walking for extensive periods; occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs; requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

    Work Environment

    Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology / hematology clinic environment may occur. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
