Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to add to the team. We do expect the Quality Engineers to work in the building / onsite since they interact with the employees on the Production floor quite a bit. We offer the 9 / 80 work schedule and should have every other Friday off work (there might be rare occasions when they are needed on a Friday off if the production floor is running and needs their assistance).
- The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products and providing engineering support to the production floor. The incumbent also analyzes and recommends corrective action for all returned products.
- Interfaces with customers on quality issues
- Assists in the development of customer specific Quality Program Plans
- Completes and assists the AS9102 First Article Inspections to contract and prints
- Performs P.O. and SOW reviews to ensure compliance and / or take exceptions as required to ensure compliance to customer specifications
- Participates in manufacturing and production readiness reviews
- Participates with program teams in an effort to drive high product quality, continuous improvement, and increased customer satisfaction
- Reviews quality and product data to ensure conformance to specifications
- Analyzes process, product, and component performances to identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Implements statistical process controls
- Manages, analyzes, and publishes Quality Assurance Performance Reports for assigned projects including process yields, defect / root cause analyses and associated corrective actions
- Assists failure analysis efforts on systemic non-conformances and field returns implementing appropriate corrective action
- Generates procedures, process alerts, deviations, purges, and other process documentation
- Performs MRB review and engage Team / Customer as required to disposition product
- Evaluation, approval, implementation and verification of ECO's
- Designs and implements methods and procedures for testing and inspecting the quality level of products and production equipment
- Analyzes reports and returned products and recommends corrective action
- Assists in evaluating new quality standards as required
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum three years of process / quality engineering experience with electronic components and assemblies in a high reliability industryPossess an in-depth understanding of high-mix / low-volume manufacturingHands on technical experience with SMT assembly processes and requirements, including AS9100 / 9102; IPC-610; and J-STD-001Knowledge and experience performing full / partial FAI's per AS9102Knowledge of Corrective Action and failure reporting processesExperience with document collection, hardware hierarchy, and specification reviews with customersKnowledge of data collection and statistical techniques including ability to implement Statistical Process ControlKnowledgeable of Lean / Six Sigma principles and application methodsKnowledge of continuous flow manufacturing using Lean techniquesExperience with implementing Lean tools / methods (Standard work, 5S, cells, TPM, 1 piece flow, Set Up reduction, Poka Yoke)Experience with process improvement changes through Kaizen or other focused methodsFamiliarity with work standards and visual manufacturing instructionsStrong skills with MS Office programsExperience working with MRP systems and inventory availability analysisStrong interpersonal skills and team building skillsAbility to operate independently or as a team as the work dictatesPossess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearanceWe are an equal opportunity employer.
