PROGRAM ANALYST

Air Reserve Technician Position

The primary purpose of this position is : as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to accomplish analytical investigative studies relative to aircraft maintenance performance and to serve as the automated maintenance data systems manager. The organizational location of this position is in the Automated Maintenance Systems Analysis Branch of the Maintenance Group.

Duties :

• Accomplishes investigative studies of problem areas involving elements of maintenance operations and programs
• Manages the Maintenance Information System (MIS) called Integrated Maintenance Data Systems (IMDS)
• Manages the Maintenance Information System (MIS) G0-81 (CAMS for Mobility)
• Performs functional systems administrator duties on other MIS
• Develops and implements long- and short-term training plans to achieve qualification and proficiency objectives for assigned Air Force Reserve personnel
• Performs manpower utilization and allocation audits of the maintenance complex

Qualifications :

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Management and Program Analysis Series 0343.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of maintenance data systems, analysis of maintenance data and oversight of the unit's small computer program. Knowledge of management and organization principles and theories, including standardized administrative practices and procedures common to the organization or area of responsibility; and knowledge of and skill in applying conventional methods to gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning management processes, draw conclusions, and recommend appropriate action.

OR EDUCATION : Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
