ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Nursing Job in Baltimore, MD

ICU RN Job Details – Baltimore, MD

  • Location : Baltimore, MD 21218 (Maryland ICU nursing jobs)
  • Facility Setting : Critical Care Unit (CCU / ICU)
  • Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract
  • Start Date : December 9, 2025
  • Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)
  • Total Hours : 36 hours per week
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1630 - $1750
  • Patient Population : Adult and geriatric patients
  • Unit Size : 24 beds, average daily census of 18
  • Float Requirement : Yes, must float as needed
  • Weekend Coverage : Every third weekend

    • ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or Compact State (required at time of application)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or CCU RN experience
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required)
  • Ability to pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
  • Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
  • Two supervisor references required
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of Baltimore, MD

    • ICU RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to patients with acute MI, respiratory failure, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and other complex conditions
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and ventilator-dependent patients
  • Perform advanced ICU procedures : arterial line management, central / PICC line care, sheath removal, and blood product administration
  • Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, and emergency medications
  • Operate advanced critical care equipment : ECMO, LVAD / RVAD, IABP, CVVHD / CRRT, Flotrac monitoring
  • Implement infection prevention, isolation protocols, and proper use of PPE
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and more)
  • Float to other hospital units as required; provide weekend coverage every third weekend
