Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled 1 : 1 Pediatric School Nurse to provide dedicated medical support for a student in Franklin Park, Illinois . This position is ideal for an experienced nurse who is confident in ventilator and tracheostomy care and eager to make a difference in a school-based, non-clinical environment.

Position Overview

The nurse will work 1 : 1 with a student requiring continuous medical attention during the school day. The ideal candidate has pediatric experience and can perform specialized care with precision, empathy, and professionalism.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates must possess experience and proficiency in the following areas :

Pediatric experience with children on ventilators

Understanding and monitoring ventilator settings

Suctioning and manual ventilation (bagging)

Troubleshooting ventilator alarms

Trach care, including changing a trach and using an HME

Managing medical equipment and connections

Emergency response and intervention

GT feeding, including enteral pump use, preparation, and water flushes

Positioning and mobility assistance

Incontinence management and skin checks

Transfers and positioning, including donning and doffing AFOs

Qualifications

Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Certified School Nurse (CSN) endorsement from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)

Current RN or LPN license in Illinois

Current CPR and First Aid certification

Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
