Job Summary :

Growing, family-owned property management and development company, in business for more than 40 years with a large portfolio of historic buildings, is seeking an experienced Painter . Proficiency in drywall patching and spackling required. You will be preparing and performing professional interior AND exterior painting jobs in a residential and light commercial setting.

You are an experienced residential and / or commercial painter whos looking to be part of an energetic and effective team. You believe in a job done right and take pride in delivering a quality product. A positive attitude is a must!

Responsibilities :

  • Paint using a proper applicator (brush, roller, etc.) while utilizing proper painting techniques
  • Interact professionally with residents and tenants, and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors regarding a specific project or job task.
  • Identify proper materials and quantities for new and existing projects
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, or by other means necessary
  • Mix, match, and blend various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and special protective coatings to achieve the desired color, consistency, and drying properties
  • Use caulk, putty, cement, or plaster to repair holes and cracks
  • Assess exterior building damage (weathering / rot) and determine proper methods for repair.
  • Ability to perform light carpentry and use hand tools to repair exterior damage.
  • Glazing in new glass panes to repair broken windows.
  • Inspect paint jobs for quality
  • Perform daily maintenance routines on painting equipment
  • Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in residential or commercial painting and / or remodeling / home repair
  • Take personal responsibility for yourself and pride in a job well done
  • Enjoy using your problem solving skills and learn new things quickly
  • Multi-task with a positive attitude
  • Be able to work individually as well as within a team environment
  • Be flexible, dedicated, detail-oriented and personable while working in a fast paced environment
  • Have the ability to pass a pre-employment screening and background check
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to commute between job sites
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs of equipment
