ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain safety and health programs.
- Oversee the emergency response team including goal development, training, drills and evaluations for effectiveness.
- Position will also oversee the occupational medical program.
- Develop and implement company safety and health programs, policies and procedures.
- Plan, develop and conduct emergency response team training. Evaluate for effectiveness.
- Ensures medical evaluations are tracked and completed according to site policies.
- Develop and conduct safety training.
- Audit and evaluate the effectiveness of management systems and site policies. Recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Supports site Process Safety Management program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Federal and State Safety and Health regulations.Interpretation of regulations, rules, and policies and determine how they affect personnel and procedures at the plant.Emergency response techniques including hazmat spill response, fire brigade and confined space rescue.Strong written and verbal communication skills ,organizational skills; ability to multitask.Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in an office environment with daily trips into the facility. Position will require occasional off shift availability.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene or Engineering.5 – 15 years' experience in safety, health and emergency response in a chemical plant environment.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.Benefits
