As a Senior Manager in the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team for Retail Bank's Customer Protection Operations (CP) business, you help lead a talented group of Program & Project Managers who deliver on the strategic objectives of our organization. As part of the PMO Leadership Team and aligned to CP's Chief of Staff Office, you will lead and manage strategic programs, initiatives, and workstreams that comprise the core of the CP Portfolio. You will influence multiple customer and partner groups across the CP and Retail Bank lines of business and be seen as a key change leader by our peers, business partners, and senior stakeholders. In this role, you will be a strategic thought partner that helps define strategy and provide business-critical reporting to senior leaders - ultimately shaping decisions that guide & grow Customer Protection as an organization.

The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned program manager and servant-leader with demonstrated success contributing to Key Results-connected work and program-level workstreams. Equally important, this candidate will lead, mentor, develop, and professionally care for the associates aligned to the Project job family in the PMO team. This leader will be a value-adding thought partner to their peers on the Chief of Staff team and CP overall, collaborating with other leaders to identify gaps, get ahead of friction points, and continue maturing our ways of working. This candidate must have demonstrable skill in communicating & reporting at all levels of the organization and have a willingness to lead & mentor future leaders as we grow the next generation of program & project managers in Customer Protection.

Deliver on Programs

• Lead moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports
• Design, develop, and manage project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
• Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time
• Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on time and aligned with intent
• Partner with cross-functionally project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery
• Ensure prompt and crisp tracking, communication, & reporting of owned initiatives, to include recurring status meetings, pilots and go-lives, MBRs, and other key reporting structures
• Consult with business partners to understand complex problems and focus on bringing issues to resolution, escalate road-blocks as necessary to meet timelines, and clarify and define transformation requirements / scope for cross-functional problems
• Create and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders when needed to help guide and influence senior discussions and decisions

Location : West Creek 5 (Richmond, VA) or Center 2 (McLean, VA) or 802 Delaware Ave (Wilmington, DE) - this role is Hybrid, where you will be expected to spend 3 days per week working in office and the remainder of the week working virtually.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA : $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr Manager, Project Management

Richmond, VA : $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
