Overview
We seek a dedicated and passionate school counselor to spearhead the creation and execution of a counseling program aimed at supporting students in their social, emotional, and academic growth. The position involves creating a more secure and nurturing learning atmosphere and implementing initiatives to address and combat instances of bullying, violence, and intolerance affecting both individual students and the broader school community.
Counselor Responsibilities
- Devising and executing programs and systems to ensure the ongoing fulfillment of students' mental and emotional needs.
- Attend to students' academic, social, emotional, and personal issues.
- Facilitate and enhance communication between students, parents, and educators to foster positive relationships.
- Provide students with support and guidance on how to deal with problems.
- Mediating and improving relationships between students, parents, and teachers.
- Arrange individual meetings and establish a schedule to meet with students and / or parents who require interventions, support, or the formation of support groups.
- Recognize, evaluate, and manage risky behaviors to prevent behavioral problems and potential threats.
- Enhance students' academic performance while nurturing their mental, behavioral, emotional, and physical wellness.
- Refer students to other support services and mental health professionals as needed.
Counselor Requirements
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling.A minimum of 3 years experience as a professional counselor.Superb verbal and written communication skills.Aptitude to empathize with students and help them open up.Demonstrates perceptive intuition and effective decision-making.Exemplifies professionalism and a strong work ethic.Motivational leadership qualities coupled with sound judgment and attention to detail.Strong time management skills with a keen eye for detail.Additional Job Information
