Job description

Overview : Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I in the Intensive Care Unit, working full-time night shifts. This role involves providing essential patient care, observing and reporting changes in patient conditions, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked patient environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to the unit and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs, either directly or by notifying appropriate staff.
  • Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated tasks.
  • Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Manage medication and supply retrieval for patient care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient care area.
  • Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
  • Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
  • Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.

Education and Certifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience and Skills :

  • No prior experience required; training provided.
  • Strong guest relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write English effectively.
  • Flexibility with work tasks and schedules.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to work variable shifts including nights.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate safety precautions.
