Distribution Line Network Operations Supervisor
Responsible for the leadership, safety management, scheduling and coordination of region wide distribution line network operations, coordination between line operations and local storerooms for materials and inventory, and minor storm restoration coordination activities. Requires strong working relationship with customer service reps and engineering supervisor within the region.
Supervises and coordinates activities of multiple utility foreman / operations coordinators and supervisory, construction staff who monitor network workload on a daily and weekly basis and shift line and service resources as needed to meet customer commitments and reliability initiatives and programs within and between regions.
Coordinates with local storeroom personnel, materials and inventory support, and other materials-related activities.
Monitors weather conditions and outages and directs and management of restoration workers for minor storm events during both regular and after hours.
Manages, plans construction, and executes the asset management reliability programs and initiatives for network and region.
Manages the underground and overhead network distribution line contractors performing work in area of responsibility.
Coordinates the assembling of out of town storm response teams and serves as a local storm boss during a black event.
Minimum education required of the position : Bachelor's degree in related field or the equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position : 7-10 years.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position : Distribution line construction, operations and maintenance knowledge. Strong leadership, negotiations and communication skills. Working knowledge of safety rules, practices and procedures. Computer skills with a working knowledge of distribution applications. Ability to respond to local and out of town minor and major storm restoration activities during regular and after hours. Knowledge of distribution line materials management processes and environmental processes associated with handling oil filled equipment or other environmentally sensitive areas. Knowledge of administering IBEW contracts.
