Material Engineer

Kforce has a client in Fremont, CA that is seeking a Material Engineer.

Responsibilities :

• Treating -soft goods- materials as the product, you will be responsible for developing surface materials and their composite constructions that can fulfill seating and interior product requirements, through the entire product lifecycle from concept to production : Concept generation, concept selection, detailed design, validation, manufacturing feasibility, production process, sustainability
• Derive material-level requirements from system-level requirements, through instrumented observation of system interactions and analyzing them in context of system specifications
• Correlate specifications to end-product reliability data
• Work closely with product design engineers and testing engineers to validate material performance at system-level. In part, you will be a product design engineer, too
• 3D and 2D documentation of material design data, integrated with system design documentation such as CAD and 2D drawings
• Participate and manage collaborative efforts with other departments within the Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups to ensure system integration and compatibility
• Cross-functional technical communication with Commercial, Quality, and Supplier interfaces
