Preferred Qualifications : Three years' experience managing multiple capital improvement design and construction projects from inception to completion, including new construction and total or partial renovation of entire buildings systems and infrastructures. Three years' experience managing multiple major building life safety fire alarm and sprinkler systems / repair, OR mechanical (HVAC), OR electrical, OR plumbing infrastructure repair or replacement construction projects. Well developed oral, written, analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities : Assess agency infrastructures and prioritize capital project needs for approximately thirty major correctional facilities and twenty-five other agency facilities located across Georgia. Develop capital project construction program needs and establish and manage budgets for design and construction of Life Safety, Fire Alarm Systems, and Sprinkler Systems. Procure and administer engineering services contracts for agency design and construction projects. Manage various types of construction contracts for multiple capital improvement projects simultaneously to include Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm Systems, and Sprinkler Systems. Coordinate multiple contractors for the Life Safety / Fire Alarm and Sprinkler System Repairs statewide. Coordinate involvement and contribution of multiple agency divisions and departments during the design and construction process. Ability to climb ladders and carry up to 25 pounds.

Comments / Notes : This position is based out of GDC headquarters in Lies Hall at State Offices South at Tift College in Forsyth, GA. Job duties require statewide travel to manage construction projects within correctional facilities. Limited overnight travel may be required, but most trips are only daily.
