Marketing Planner
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for marketing operations and planning? Our client, an online university, is seeking a Marketing Planner to join their team for a 6 month freelance role, fully remote, 30-40 hours per week with strong potential to extend. This is a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally across their marketing verticals-Undergraduate, Nursing, and Brand-and help turn strategy into action.
As the Marketing Planner, youll serve as the operational and strategic connector across the marketing organization, ensuring campaigns are aligned, executed on time, and optimized for performance. Youll be the central hub between strategy, project management, and execution teams, with visibility into leadership-level impact. The role is remote, but there could be longer-term potential for candidates located in Chicago, Minneapolis, or Columbia, MD who would be willing to eventually work a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead quarterly and annual planning cycles, translating strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps.
- Maintain and manage the integrated marketing calendar in partnership with project managers.
- Facilitate quarterly planning meetings and QBRs, synthesizing insights into future recommendations.
- Oversee creative refresh cadence across verticals and manage refresh planning meetings.
- Partner with analytics and channel leads to produce monthly performance readouts.
- Collaborate with PMs to align campaign timing, asset delivery, and production milestones.
- Manage budget pacing and resource forecasting with leadership and Finance.
- Support process optimization and marketing operations initiatives.
- Ensure organized documentation of plans and deliverables for leadership transparency.
Qualifications :
6-10 years of experience in marketing planning, operations, or strategy (agency or brand side).Deep understanding of integrated marketing workflows across creative, media, and analytics.Proven ability to lead planning cycles and synthesize complex information.Strong organizational and communication skills.An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data.Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; experience with Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com or similar.Experience in retail, e-commerce, or higher education is a plus.In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and / or proprietary information or data.Creative Circles Freelance Employee benefits package includes eligibility for Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) medical plan, dental / vision / term life package, discount prescription program, critical illness, accident, tele-behavioral health, and 401(k) plan.
