This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Elementary School education, serving grades K-1 within a self-contained classroom setting. The position involves working with a small group of approximately 8 students, with the possibility of additional students joining during the school year. Dedicated support is provided through a paraprofessional and 1 : 1 aide to ensure a nurturing educational environment. The role is full-time, averaging 33.35 hours per week on a contract basis for the current school year.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of young learners, and collaborating with support staff to maximize student growth and engagement. Monitoring student progress and maintaining clear munication with families and administration are essential ponents of the role.

Qualifications for this position require a Bachelors degree or higher, along with an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) featuring the Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) Endorsement. Experience teaching kindergarten and first-grade students is preferred to ensure familiarity with early childhood education standards and practices.
