Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to help individuals with communication disorders improve their speech, language, voice, fluency, and social communication skills. The SLPA implements documented IEP goals and services, assists with assessments, and supports the administrative needs of therapy sessions. See the Job Attachment for a complete description

Reports To : Special Education Director and Speech-Language Pathologist

Additional Job Information :

Qualifications : Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting, or a related field approved by the state licensing board, SLPA license or certification as required by the state, completion of supervised clinical fieldwork experience, basic knowledge of speech-language pathology terminology, developmental milestones, and therapy practices, and such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
