Senior AI Engineering Lead (Generative AI Services)

Team Description :

The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team plays a pivotal role in actualizing our AI vision at Capital One. We collaborate closely with various partners throughout the organization to advance AI science and engineering, developing proprietary solutions that deliver significant value to millions of customers.

In this role, you will :

Collaborate with a diverse team including engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that transform associate workflows and enhance customer interactions.

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software solutions, focusing on components like foundation model training, large language model inference, and model evaluation.

Utilize a wide range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch.

Develop cutting-edge optimization techniques for large-scale production AI systems to enhance performance metrics like scalability and latency.

Contribute to the long-term technical strategy and roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with at least 6 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms, or a Master's degree in the same fields with at least 4 years of experience.

At least 6 years of experience programming in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Preferred Qualifications :

7 years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

Experience in designing, developing, and supporting complex AI systems.

Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams while influencing stakeholders across functions.

Expertise in the development of AI and ML technologies such as LLM Inference and Similarity Search.

Experience optimizing software for enhanced hardware utilization and performance.

Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex AI concepts to a variety of audiences.
