Role Overview :

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of equipment, utilities, facilities, and controls through effective maintenance practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Operations and Engineering teams, this role drives preventive and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and optimization of maintenance processes to minimize downtime and support efficient manufacturing operations.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime and reduce unplanned failures.
  • Support daily maintenance activities and provide technical expertise to troubleshoot complex equipment and system issues.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to identify and resolve recurring equipment problems and develop sustainable corrective actions.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements in maintenance strategy, spare parts management, and equipment design.
  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and systems to ensure maintainability and reliability standards are met.
  • Contribute to the selection and evaluation of equipment suppliers, MRO vendors, and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Apply engineering principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, RCA) to enhance equipment performance, maintenance efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of maintenance and site operations.

Qualifications : Required

  • BS / MS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, engineering, or operations, preferably in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques (e.g., vibration analysis, oil monitoring, thermography).
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and Visio).
  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Lean and / or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Salary Range : $90,000 - $110,000 annual base salary
