Job descriptionWork in a mixed acuity Step Down and PCU unit at a hospital setting Patient population includes PCU, medical-surgical telemetry, surgical pre / post-op, trauma, ortho surgery, and overflow medical patients Patient ratios : 1 : 3-5 for days / weekends, 1 : 3-6 for nights, adjusted by acuity Night shifts available from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week Every other weekend is required Float to sister units such as West 2, West 3, and Observation unit may be required Epic is used for documentation; Pyxis for medication management; SBAR is utilized for communication Responsibilities include managing complex patients, dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, and diverse surgical and medical cases 12-hour unit orientation provided at the start of contract Solid color scrubs are required Every other weekend and floating coverage required Preferred : PALS and TCAR certifications RTO (scheduled time off) is limited to 7 days maximum per contract Rare pediatric patients may be present; travelers only assigned if experienced First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment Active NY RN license required Minimum of 1 year RN experience required Recent (within 3 years) experience in PCU, IMC, or Step Down setting required Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Proficiency in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, insulin drip titration, central line care, blood product administration, and wound care required Must live more than 50 miles from the facility Epic charting experience preferred High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
