This Opportunity :

The Laboratory Assistant will be a vital member of the treatment team. They will support the LVTs and Doctors by facilitating the processing of in-house diagnostic testing, preparing samples, coordinating sample transportation, and the communication of results. They are pivotal in ensuring pet health in our practice.

Reporting and Supervision :

This position reports to the Patient Care Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

• Collect and process lab samples to be sent out.
• Process in-house lab samples and enter results into computer database.
• Utilize laboratory equipment to make microscope slides.
• Oversee lab records and practice management software to ensure all clients are called with lab results.
• Update medical records through the Electronic Medical Record (Cornerstone)
• Review and call back nurse line messages from clients.
• Maintain cleanliness of workspace and equipment. Ensure hospital protocols are followed to maintain high standards of care.
• Assisting with duties in pharmacy and treatment as requested by your supervisor.
