Description
MAJOR FUNCTION :
Assist prospective borrowers in determining the best course of action to meet and accomplish their housing goals. Originate quality real estate loans and follow entire loan process with regular communication to all parties involved.
Develop and manage real estate loan accounts which meet established lending requirements with a minimum of risk. Responsible for the servicing of a personal real estate portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Interview residential loan applicants; determine best program options according to their qualifications.
2. Originates quality loan applications meeting all Federal and State compliance requirements for initial disclosure.
3. Obtains and analyzes necessary financial information to process and underwrite loans.
4. Prepares and presents loans to the Loan Committee and upper management as applicable, after full review according to the terms and conditions of ASBT's Loan Policy.
5. Oversees entire loan process thru closing in keeping with ASBT policies and procedures, maintaining communication with all parties.
6. Participates in the development of current residential lending marketing programs for the institution's products and services.
7. Provides input to management to streamline and improve residential loan services for the benefit of the customer and the financial institution.
8. Provide loan status reports and offer recommendations and actions to improve loan strategies when necessary.

10. Actively participates in local business and community activities and maintains close contact with local builders, real estate brokers and agents, customers and prospects.
11. Maintain Federal NMLS license.
12. Complete all initial and annual training requirements as outlined by ASBT
13. Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives and responsibilities of the Lending function.
QUALIFICATIONS :
1. A bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field.
2. Two years of experience in secondary market programs preferred, including Fannie Mae, VA, FHA, USDA and Housing Finance Agency Lending.
3. Five years' experience in a financial institution, loan department or similar area.
4. Extensive knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures.
5. Extensive knowledge of residential real estate lending practices and related areas.
6. Good managerial, communication and public relations skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
1. Confidentiality and tactfulness in dealing with bank and customer information is mandatory.
2. Ability to conduct relationships with co-workers, customers, the community and the overall public in a manner which will enhance the bank's image and comprehensive marketing effort.
3. Will be called upon from time to time to participate with community organizations and projects.
