This position works within the Patient Access department to fulfill special projects, operational reporting duties, administrative tasks, and to coordinate with other areas as needed to ensure success of the assignments. The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

Primary responsibilities include : coordinating with appropriate parties, focusing on special projects, identifying needs or trends, maintaining statistical information, working closely with hospital departments, understanding multiple applications, analyzing policies and procedures, meeting productivity and quality standards, acting as a preceptor, assisting with cross-coverage, and performing other duties upon request.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma / GED, 2+ years of experience in an office, customer service, or phone support role, 1+ years of professional experience in a hospital or medical setting, intermediate proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, and the ability to work standard hours with flexibility to occasionally work between 6 : 00am - 8 : 00pm.
Preferred qualifications include experience as a team lead or supervisor, experience with Experian and / or Cerner, understanding of medical terminology, and advanced level experience with insurance policies and procedures and patient care settings.
Soft skills include the ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize tasks, work well under pressure, work well with health care providers, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
