Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Med / Surg Unit (18 beds, primarily private rooms) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 9 / 2026) Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am), 3 shifts per week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990–$2130 Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday rotation Charting System : EPIC Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in progress) BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of hospital nursing experience preferred Ability to titrate and monitor Heparin drips Negative drug screen required Strong communication and teamwork skills Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to general medical patients with diverse diagnoses Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 5-6 : 1 during night shifts Titrate and monitor Heparin drips as part of clinical support Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Float to other hospital units as needed Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records Participate in weekend and holiday rotations Attend a 12-hour orientation shift with a unit preceptor Discover the benefits of Illinois healthcare jobs and experience Peoria’s thriving medical community, scenic riverfront, and cultural attractions.
