Position Summary

Are you ready to drive innovation in manufacturing and engineering excellence? GKN Automotive is seeking a Plant Engineer – Core Process (Heat Treatment) to lead technical support, optimize core processes, and ensure compliance with global standards at our cutting-edge facility in Alamance, NC. In this role, you will be at the forefront of process improvement, engineering design, and global collaboration—helping shape the future of mobility through technical leadership and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing small to medium-scale engineering projects
Familiarity with global manufacturing standards and best practices
Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
Proven ability to deliver effective training programs

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent

6–10 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering

Strong skills in data analysis, process design, and engineering implementation

Knowledge of HSE policies and commitment to safety and compliance

Position Overview

As a Plant Engineer, you will :

Lead technical support for GKN Core Processes and ensure compliance with standards

Drive internal audits and KPI improvements through action planning and reporting

Support the Technology & Manufacturing Development Manager in updating standards and developing local skills

Attend regional and global meetings to align with international best practices

Design and improve manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment

Conduct engineering inspections and feasibility testing

Deliver training programs and support continuous improvement initiatives

Manage small to medium-scale projects and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
