Responsibilities

The FSU Economics Department is seeking to hire up to two tenure-track faculty members at the Assistant Professor level to join our Faculty in the Fall of 2025. The selected candidates will be faculty members in the Department of Economics and affiliated with the XS / FS research cluster is made up of a group of scholars from the Departments of Economics, Political Science, and Accounting who use experimental methods to study social sciences and business. The Department welcomes applications from candidates entering the job market for the first time AND from more experienced candidates (such as Postdocs and advanced Assistant Professors).

In addition to research, the successful candidate will be expected to fulfill usual teaching and service responsibilities. Standard teaching responsibilities consist of a 2 / 2 course load, with a standard three-course reduction for new hires. The Department also expects all faculty to perform standard service responsibilities commensurate with rank.

Qualifications

  • Completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. before the date of hire is expected.
  • Potential to produce internationally recognized research at the Assistant level or have a strong track record of scholarship at the advanced Assistant level.
  • Expertise suitable to teach behavioral economics at the Ph.D. level.
