Unit Overview

Beds : 18

Ratios : 1 : 4–1 : 5

Support Staff : Nurse Aides (1 : 9), Charge RN available

Tele : RN reads their own strips (pending position approval)

Department Status : Brand new unit, opening December 10th

Patient Population

Medical-surgical overflow including :

CHF

Diabetes

UTI

Non-critical sepsis

HTN

COPD

Isolation patients

End-of-life / palliative

Awaiting placement

Post-op general surgery

Required Certifications

BLS

WA or Compact RN License

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year acute care RN experience

Drips

Titrated : Heparin gtt, Cardizem gtt (up to 10 mg / hr)

Set-rate drips : Heparin & Cardizem

Respiratory Equipment : CPAP, BiPAP (No High Flow)

Schedule

Shift : 12-hour shifts (FTE-based scheduling)

Weekends : Required, based on unit needs

Holidays : Preferred—discussed during interview

Call : None

Standby : None

Floating : As needed

Orientation

2–3 shift unit-specific orientation

Dress Code

No specific scrub color
