Realtime DevOps Lead

Overview

Join our dynamic Realtime DevOps team, responsible for running Zoom’s core meeting backend for multimedia routing, cloud recording, and streaming. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on DevOps Lead with expertise in colocation operations to guide our talented teams. Your understanding of large-scale, latency-sensitive real-time systems in colocation and cloud environments will be crucial as you modernize our services, enhancing their availability, reliability, and cost efficiency through automation and scalable delivery.

Responsibilities

Mentor and lead a high-performing team of DevOps engineers focused on supporting real-time backend services.

Oversee and optimize daily operations of our Linux-based infrastructure in colocation data centers and across cloud regions.

Drive initiatives aimed at automating infrastructure workflows, including provisioning, patching, scaling, and recovery.

Monitor and enhance resource utilization across compute, storage, and network systems.

What We're Looking For

Over 10 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles, including at least 3 years in a management capacity.

A strong hands-on background in Linux systems, networking, and distributed systems.

Experience operating low-latency, high-throughput backend services at a global scale.

Familiarity with media or real-time communication systems (e.g., MMR, WebRTC).

Thorough knowledge of TCP / IP, routing, DNS, load balancing, and packet capture tools.

Experience with direct data center operations, including hardware provisioning and troubleshooting.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between $146,700.00 and $339,300.00. This includes base salary and other forms of compensation such as bonuses and equity value, considerations of which are based on several factors including your qualifications and experience.
