Responsibilities
- Working with minimal supervision, support the Store Manager in all facets of store operations.
- Develop and promote a sales culture by creating individualized solutions for each guest and providing outstanding guest service through professional conduct and a passion for gaming.
- Ensure products are easy to see and buy; build sales by sharing product knowledge with guests; maintain a clean, organized store environment; grow guest loyalty and repeat business.
- Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Provide best-in-class guest service, greet guests, respond to questions / concerns, promote promotions, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop.
- Process guest purchases / returns accurately using the POS system; handle transactions with proper changes, receipts, and packaging.
- Escalate guest issues to the Store Manager when appropriate and assist in meeting guest service expectations.
- Promote GameStop benefits such as reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and compliance training for store associates; ensure understanding of policies and guidelines.
- Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
- Coordinate scheduling with the Store Manager, manage breaks, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels.
- Approve payroll, manage time off requests, and verify compensation for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment and fixtures are in good working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily and manage inventory control to protect company assets.
- Assist in achieving sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform administrative and operational duties as required.
- Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; prepare closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate findings to the Store Manager / District Manager.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls accurately and promptly; label boxes with packing lists.
- Maintain awareness of guest and associate safety and report injuries as per guidelines.
- Support record-keeping and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager's absence.
- Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest.Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team.Meet performance expectations, including attendance, safety, and a respectful workplace.Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.Complete required paperwork and follow instructions in written or diagram form.Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days / week availability.Be reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure; stand / walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.Military rank awareness may be required for stores located on military bases.Job descriptions are subject to change. Compensation & Benefits
Benefits : Full-time store positions are eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance; bonuses and other incentives may apply.
