Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a float pool position covering ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health with a minimum of 3 years' experience in all areas.
Responsibilities
Work as part of the hospital-wide Nursing Resource Team, floating across ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health units, including adult and youth acute care as well as addiction recoveryPatient ratios vary by assignment : ICU 1 : 1-2, Med / Surg & ED boarded Med / Surg 1 : 5-6, PCU 1 : 3-4, Behavioral Health 1 : 5-6 days and 1 : 10 overnightsWork schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, both days and nights, with every other weekend requiredPossible mid-shift floating based on hospital needsUnits vary from 21 to 35 beds depending on assignmentNavy blue scrubs are required as the dress codeUtilizes KBH / YA restraint board and mechanical lifts, with training provided during onboardingResponsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care for a diverse patient population across multiple unitsAssists physicians during exams and procedures and administers medications within nursing scopeProvides patient and family education to promote independence and understanding of careAdapts quickly to new units and maintains flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentTraining and orientation include restraint protocols, violence prevention (MOAB), and boundaries modulesDoes not accept local candidates; must reside outside a 50-mile radiusRequirements
Active Idaho or compact RN license requiredCurrent AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredGraduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (BSN highly preferred)Minimum 3 years of experience in each of the following areas : ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health / Psych (including adult and youth acute, and addiction recovery)Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation requiredCompletion of Restraint C, MOAB 8-hour class, and Boundaries module during onboardingDepartment of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting requiredBenefits
