The role you'll contribute : The Consumer Access Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional consumer access services through proactive communication, collaboration with clinical partners, and a commitment to operational excellence. Key responsibilities include accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and authorization management to ensure seamless care delivery and financial transparency. The role demands strong time management, adherence to productivity and attendance standards, and flexibility to meet departmental needs. Additionally, the employee supports payment management by providing cost estimates, collecting payments, and facilitating financial counseling when needed. If applicable, duties also extend to PBX (Switchboard) operations and emergency code protocols. Throughout all tasks, the employee demonstrates a dedication to accuracy, compliance, and compassionate service, enhancing both patient experience and organizational efficiency.

The value you'll bring to the team : Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed. Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or establishes payment plans. Coordinates with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues and ensures patients have necessary logistical information. Contacts insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits, and obtains pre-authorizations within established timeframes. Registers patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication of medical records.
