Description
The Maintenance Supervisor must have general supervisory skills including employee training, appraisals, and terminations. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and document actions taken. Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify, analyze and improve processes and be accountable for accurate and timely completion of maintenance / production orders. The Maintenance Supervisor must show the ability to lead the maintenance department for the entire facility. They must be knowledgeable on both the North and South end production areas as well as the building’s needs throughout their shift and communicate any carry over events to the oncoming supervisor. Previous maintenance / production experience with proven performance record is essential. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Perform Annual Evaluations for team members.
- Hiring and corrective actions for positions.
- Communication with production management on maintenance related issues
- Communication with other maintenance supervisors for pass downs at the end of each shift
- Promote and enforce a safe work environment.
- Monitor employee practices and equipment for safety concerns and adherence to safety policies and procedures
- Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance team.
- Monitor daily and weekly project loads and goals (Focus GEMBA)
- Organize and assign work duties of maintenance employees.
- Maintain accurate employee records.
- Inspect quality of product at each workstation
- Practice good housekeeping in all areas.
- Insure proper functionality and reliability of equipment.
- Promote 5S and lean manufacturing principles the to fullest extent.
- Oversee and lead process reliability and uptime
- Responsibility for training and development of technicians under supervision
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferredDemonstrated ability to delegate tasks effectively and hold team members accountable3 – 5 years in Previous Lead and or Management experience preferred in a manufacturing / maintenance settingExperience with CMMS – inventory / work order / on-site requestsAbility to interpret and present MDI and department metrics and goalsMust be comfortable working with teams on projects as well as presentations to groupsMust have good communication skills when working with all levels of management and groups within the companyGood attendance is a must along with a Servant leadership mind setProper knowledge in industrial automation systemsAll team members are expected to follow the Code of Conduct to the highest standards as well as to adhere to the Attendance Policy of VT Industries. Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with regular lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required.
