Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist – MedStar Union Memorial Hospital

MedStar Health's advanced heart failure program spans Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Southern Maryland, with 5 cardiologists based in Baltimore and 9 in the Washington / MD region.

We are seeking an advanced heart failure cardiologist to join our team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Union Memorial serves as MedStar’s cardiovascular hub in Baltimore, featuring advanced cardiac imaging, robust intervention and structural heart capabilities, advanced electrophysiology services, and cardiac surgery.

In this role, you will care for the full spectrum of heart failure (Stage C and D), LVAD care (inpatient and outpatient), heart transplant recipients, infiltrative disease, pulmonary hypertension, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and more. The position includes equal inpatient coverage with four other partners (equal call, 1 : 5) and outpatient clinic duties, including rotation through the VAD clinic. Clinical time may also be available at the primary LVAD / transplant implant center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Development is encouraged through research, education, and trainee mentorship.

Position Requirements

• Fellowship training in mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant care
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure
• Management of the full spectrum of heart failure
• Superior training and interpersonal skills

Benefits

Salary : USD $300,000.00 – $541,000.00 per year.
