Job Summary :
FHI 360 seeks a Senior Nutrition Technical Advisor to enhance our nutrition and food security portfolio, affirm our global thought leadership, and provide top-notch technical support and oversight for a diverse range of health and nutrition projects. This role involves staying updated on the latest developments and donor trends while representing FHI 360 in donor forums and professional meetings. You will work within our Nutrition and Food Security Team, closely collaborating with regional offices, enterprise services, and relevant subsidiaries. This position is based in the United States.
Accountabilities
Program Development : Work collaboratively to expand FHI 360's nutrition portfolio.
Stay informed about donor trends and identify opportunities to grow our nutrition initiatives globally.
Build and strengthen relationships with donor representatives, partners, and key stakeholders in the sector.
Lead the design and development of innovative proposals focused on nutrition and food security.
Contribute to projects across departments that feature significant nutrition components.
Program Quality : Support new project startups and provide ongoing technical backing for established initiatives.
Assess project technical needs and ensure timely provision of technical assistance, including in-country support as needed.
Develop high-quality technical briefs and knowledge products to ensure relevance and integrity.
Collaborate on donor reports and annual work plans, maintaining quality and integrity in submissions.
Facilitate networking and cooperation among projects and across HQ and country-based teams.
Thought Leadership : Position FHI 360 as a leader in nutrition and food systems.
Identify opportunities to advance the evidence base within existing projects and collaborate with staff to document and share findings.
Develop and secure funding for strategic inquiries aiding the peer-reviewed evidence base.
Ensure the quality and integrity of all related research and publications.
Required Knowledge and Skills :
In-depth knowledge of best practices in nutrition and food systems.
Familiarity with the global nutrition donor environment and a thorough understanding of USAID's interests and investments.
Exceptional communication skills, with proven expertise in technical and business development writing.
Adept project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and implement activities effectively.
Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Proven ability to influence key stakeholders and secure their support.
Competency in a second language is preferred.
Education :
Master's degree or equivalent in nutrition, public health, or a related field.
Project Management Certification is preferred.
Experience :
12+ years in nutrition or public health.
Experience engaging with governments and committees in the field of nutrition at various levels.
A proven track record in leading business development efforts related to nutrition, with a strong preference for USAID project experience.
Established networks in the global nutrition and public health community.
Direct implementation experience in low to middle-income countries (LMIC) is highly desirable.
