GLO Resources is currently hiring a Bilingual Safety Assistant to work locally within Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. The annual salary starts at $45k, depending on experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, full-time, with occasional travel, and an on-call rotation will be required.
Position Summary :
The Safety Assistant supports the Safety Department in promoting a safe and healthy work environment. This role assists with inspections, training, recordkeeping, and compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations. The Safety Assistant works closely with supervisors, employees, and the Safety Manager to ensure safety programs are implemented effectively on jobsites and in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with conducting site safety inspections and audits, documenting findings, and following up on corrective actions.
- Support the development and delivery of safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
- Help maintain safety records, reports, and incident logs in compliance with OSHA and company requirements.
- Participate in incident / accident investigations, gathering information and assisting in preparing reports.
- Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in distributing and posting safety bulletins, signage, and communications.
- Provide support in emergency response planning and drills.
- Act as a resource to employees by answering basic safety questions and escalating issues when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Safety Manager or Safety Director.
- Other duties may be assigned by upper management.
Qualifications :
Associates or Bachelors degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.Reliable TransportationValid Drivers License and willing to submit to an MVR check.Prior experience in construction, industrial, or occupational safety settings is an advantage.In the event of no safety experience, industry knowledge is required (construction).Knowledge of OSHA standards and basic workplace safety practices preferred.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Able to effectively communicate with upper management in a professional work setting.Ability to travel to jobsites as needed.Working Conditions :
Work is performed in both office and field settings.Exposure to outdoor weather, construction environments, and moderate noise levels.Must be able to walk, stand, and climb on jobsites.PPE required at jobsites (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, high-visibility vest, etc.).Benefits :
