Special Education Teacher (Severe Needs) – Warren, MA

Position Details :
Location : Warren, MA
Schedule : Full-time, 32.5 hours per week (8 : 15 AM – 3 : 05 PM)
Contract Dates : ASAP start – June 16, 2026 (with potential extension based on district need)
Caseload : Approximately 8 students, grades K–3 (students on the autism spectrum; some with 1 : 1 support)
Responsibilities :
Provide instruction to students with moderate to severe needs, differentiating lessons to meet individual goals
Manage a team of 4–5 paraprofessionals, creating a structured and positive classroom environment
Lead daily routines such as circle time and small group instruction
Support students with self-regulation challenges (e.g., elopement, disrobing, difficulty calming)
Collaborate with related service providers (BCBAs, PTs, and therapists) who are actively involved in the classroom
Incorporate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems where appropriate
Foster a nurturing environment where young children feel safe, supported, and able to learn
Qualifications :
Moderate to Severe or Severe Special Education License (preferred)
Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging behavioral situations
Strong classroom management and team leadership skills
Genuine love for working with young children is a must!
