Responsibilities Work in a pediatric unit with both pediatric med / surg and NICU patient populations Cares for patients with surgical needs, PCU, prematurity, apnea of prematurity (AOP), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), bronchopulmonary dysplasia, chronic lung disease, cardiac defects, feeding issues, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), iatrogenic NAS, and requires trach experience Rotating day and night shifts (3x12 hours), including every other weekend and every other holiday May be required to float within the hospital and to the main Baltimore campus as needed Travelers are first to float within their scope of experience Provide specialized care to pediatric and neonatal patients with a variety of complex conditions Must be comfortable floating without restrictions within the scope of experience Return travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months; former staff must be away at least 12 months before eligibility to return as travelers Most locations allow for one contract and one extension before a required 6-month break from the facility Completion of non-billable onboarding modules is required Holiday coverage is required per unit standards Schedule restrictions or block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated CPI certification may be required, Calm Every Storm online version is the accepted vendor Requirements Active MD or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration Two years of pediatric RN experience required BLS certification required (AHA only) NICU nursing experience required Trach care experience required Relevant experience with pediatric surgical and medical conditions as specified Two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (one supervisor / manager, one charge RN) Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the hospital First-time travelers are accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628489.
